This resource contains a variety of 3D shape activities.
<strong>Content and description</strong>
3-D Shape Mat in colour and b/w. (x2) and 3-D Properties Information Sheet
The mat can be used for the 3D challenge quiz. There are 8 questions to be answered.
Differentiated 3D Shapes Search and Colour (x3).
Children colour the shapes using the colour key.
Shapes Match Up and Cut/paste Sorting Shapes + Answer Sheets.
(a) Children draw lines from the shape to the real objects and then label the shapes.
(b) This is a shape sort task – Children cut out the objects on worksheet 2 and then sort and glue into the correct column on worksheet 1.
Differentiated 3D Shapes – What Am I? Activities (Colour & b/w)
Four clipart children on each worksheet. Each clipart child describes the 3-D shape properties and real object. The task is to write the name of the shape.
Labelling 3D Shape Pictures (x1) and Answer Sheet.
There are four 3D objects in colour and black & white on the worksheet. Children label the objects with the 3-D shape used.
Properties of 3D Shape Match-Up (x2) with Answers.
Children draw lines from the shape to its description using different colour pencils.

There are 8 questions to answer which includes adding up faces and edges of different shapes, describing differences between shapes and tracing and labelling shapes. Children can use their 3D Shape Mat to work out the answers.
3D Shape Picture – Label the shapes used for each object.
In this activity there are four pictures drawn using 3D shapes. Children label parts of the object with the 3D shape used.
Colour and Match (x2)
In this activity, children choose a colour and colour or shade the shape in first column. Then using the same colour to colour or shade in the shape(s) that match it. There is a selection of shapes to choose from.
Count, trace and colour (x2)
Children read how many shapes to trace round and colour in.

This is a fun matching hands-on activity working with 2D shapes.
Aimed at: Early Years/Year 1, SEN and children learning English.
<strong>Content:</strong>
Ten sets of Shape Match Mats – Set 1 to Set 12
Ten sets of Shape Cards – Set 1 to Set 12
Labels for shapes
Shapes used: square, circle, triangle, rectangle, oval, pentagon, diamond/rhombus, heart, star, crescent and trapezium shape.
The mats are whole page landscape and should be printed onto card and laminated.
Enlarge to A3 and get children to work in pairs to match the shapes.
Each mat displays various shapes in different positions, size and colour. For each mat there are sets of shapes which should be printed onto card or good quality paper and then cut out ready for the children to start the matching activity.
The cut out shapes are placed on top of the correct shapes shown on the Shape Mat. The shape, colour and size should match.
More than one shape card can be placed on top of a shape. This is an opportunity for children to count the number of matching shapes, describe colours and shapes.
Included are shape labels - you may want to use these to revise shapes with the children.
I keep the numbered sets together so that they do not get mixed up, i.e. Set 1 Shape Cards stored away with Shape Match Mat 1; Set 2 Shape Cards kept with Shape Match Mat 2 etc.

This resource relates to counting 2D shapes of different colours.
It is a 3-in-1 product that covers the early learning of colours, shapes and basic counting up to 10.
Each page contains the same shapes but they are different colours.
An ideal resource for children to practise colour recognition, 2D shapes and counting.
Ideally, each sheet should be laminated and used with a dry-erase pen.
Children count the shapes that are the same colour and then write the number in the space provided.
Shapes used are: circle, square, triangle, rectangle, diamond/rhombus and pentagon.
<strong>Extension opportunity:</strong> Some children can count beyond 10 and even 20 in Reception and Year 1, so once they have written down the number of shapes that are the same colours, they can then add the two numbers together to find the total number of, e.g., squares.

<strong>Describing Clouds (1 page)</strong>
Student describe pairs of clouds to show how they are different from each other, and then draw/sketch a picture. They can sketch from memory or look up images of these clouds in non-fiction books or on the computer.
For example, on the worksheet, students will see that the ‘Cirrus and Nimbostratus’ clouds are sub-headings; the ‘Cumulus and Cumulonimbus’ are sub-headings and the ‘Cirrocumulus and Altocumulus’ are sub-headings.
Once the worksheet is completed, students can see the difference between the sets of clouds.
<strong>What Am I? Worksheets (2 pages) + Answer Sheets</strong>
There are 5 clouds containing descriptions.
Students read the description in each cloud and write the name of the cloud that is described and then draw a picture of it.

Activity 1 - Cut out lined strips with picture of weather instrument: For students who can write one or two sentences about the weather instrument. Write the instrument and a sentence about it.
Activity 2 – Read and match, cut and glue activity: Each strip of paper has a picture of a weather instrument and on a separate bit of paper is a description of an instrument. Students read the description of an instrument and then glue it to the correct picture on the strip of paper.

The presentation describes myths and legends and that sometimes myths and legends overlaps. Children learn about some of the mythical stories that are passed down from one generation to the next, e.g. why the leek and the dragon are symbols of Wales and the miracles St David carried out, e.g. making the blind see, why David is standing on a hill with a dove on his shoulder, the legend of the boy who tried to steal pigeons, the legend of the corpse candle.
Listening and speaking during the presentation.
The flexible lesson plan guides you through the presentation or you can just play the presentation which children interact with.
Differentiated gap-filling worksheets:
Worksheet 1 - Children use the words in the box to fill in the gaps.
Worksheets A and B: - Children work in twos and collaborate to complete their worksheet as each child has information the other children needs.
There is a teacher’s copy for the worksheets A and B.
Early finishers - During the presentation the children are given the opportunity to retell one or two of the legends they like best which they oral retell to the class.
When they come to do the worksheets, they recount one of the stories either using a worksheet with story boxes or write a short narrative and draw a picture

This is a St David’s Day theme product which contains five different maths activities.
Optional preparation: You can cut out the puzzle pieces and have children assemble them or get the children to cut out the sheets of puzzle pieces and they can assemble and glue onto a separate sheet of paper or into their workbooks.
Content:
Differentiated puzzle pieces for children to match up numbers 1 to 10 and 11 to 20. The puzzles are in colour and b/w.
Match up numbered gold coins with a picture of a dragon in the centre by drawing lines to the correct tens frame or twenty frame.
Count gold coins and draw line to match with the tens frames.
Bar Chart Worksheet in colour/b&w with differentiated questions: Worksheet 1 with 8 questions and Worksheet 2 with 11 questions (with Answer Sheets).

This resource is about Advent and is presented in PowerPoint together with a lesson plan and supporting worksheet tasks.
For the younger children, you can just play the PowerPoint so that they know something about Advent.

30 Slide Presentation which includes whole class activities - it describes what people do in the lead up to Christmas, the meaning of Advent and children are asked what they do in preparation for an event, e.g. if it their birthday, what do they do to prepare for the big day. Children are encouraged to interact with the presentation. There is a review at the end.
Flexible lesson plan with introduction to set the scene, main lesson and recap session. The slides are referred to in the lesson plan.

Word Search with solution plus associated tasks
Worksheets 1 and 2: Children list an activity in each of the baubles. Children who need support can draw pictures to go with their list. The more able children describe their list in more detail using complete sentences and then draw a picture.
Worksheet 3: For able writers – You may wish to give this work to more able writers to write about what people do during Advent and/or write how they prepare for Christmas.
Early Finishers:
Worksheet 4 with Answer Key: For this activity children only tick the pictures that relate to Advent. The second part of the worksheet is for children to complete each of the four sentences in their own words but using the verbs in the box.
Word Search: Children can work in twos to find the words in the grid. When the word search is completed there is a ready-made worksheet for the children to put the words in the word search grid into alphabetical order.
